PARENTING PROGRAM: SCHOOL STEPS IN ENGAGING PARENTS IN EDUCATION

Abstract:The family is the first and foremost educational environment for every child, even though the child enters the world of formal education. The involvement of parents in their children's education is needed, to support and encourage children's learning and development. Program parenting As a step taken by schools to involve parents in education, it has several concepts, namely (1) provided or encouraged by the school, (2) aimed at the families of students, especially parents, (3) carried out to empower parents in the process of children's education and (4) aims to optimize the educational process that the child is going through. Some forms of parenting programs include: (1) family gathering, (2) parenting school, (3) volunteers, (4) parent's home work, (5) newsletter, (6) meeting aspirations, and (7) and conferences of students, teachers, and parents. This article is compiled based on a study conducted by researchers from the relevant literature and a review of the implementation of programs parenting in schools that have applied it.
