This study has some purpose for any elements of education. First of all, the VHS English teachers should have a balancing between creating the supplementary materials and using textbook distributed by government. For instance, if teachers believed that textbook did not reflect the students’ needs to catch students’ attention, they should support the textbook by bringing supplementary materials to their classes. Second, textbook writers need to consider teachers’ perceptions and students’ needs while designing reading texts, listening activities, speaking sections and writing tasks. Moreover, they should be careful with including all the basic skills and knowledge areas in a meaningful context. Third and the last, curriculum developers should work in collaboration with the school and teachers as teachers know real learning environments and students’ needs and interests. They should be fostering productive skills along with authentic materials by making connections with daily life and the students’ future job.
