Characteristic consumption behavior is influenced by several variables, including: economic learning received at school, the socio-cultural environment where a person lives and consumption attitudes that uphold the values contained in Pancasila. This research was conducted to examine characterized consumption behavior. The formulation of the research problems are 1) Does economic learning affect consumption attitudes? 2) Does the socio-cultural environment affect consumption attitudes? 3) Does economic learning affect characteristic consumption behavior? 4) Does the socio-cultural environment influence characteristic consumption behavior? 5) Does the attitude of consumption affect the characteristic consumption behavior? 6) Does economic learning through consumption attitudes affect characteristic consumption behavior? 7) Does the socio-cultural environment through the attitude of consumption affect the characteristic consumption behavior?
This research was conducted on students of S1 Economics Education Faculty of Economics, State University of Malang with a population of 233 and a sample of 147 respondents was taken. This research is an explanatory research or explanatory research. The instrument used was a questionnaire with item statements. Data analysis in this study used path analysis (Path Analysis) with a computer program SPSS 16.00 for windows. Based on the data analysis, it was found that 1) economic learning has a direct effect on consumption attitudes 2) the socio-cultural environment has a direct effect on consumption attitudes 3) economic learning has a direct effect on consumption behavior with character 4) the socio-cultural environment directly affects consumption behavior having a character 5) consumption attitude has a direct effect on consumption behavior with character 6) economic learning has an indirect effect on character consumption behavior through consumption attitude 7) socio-cultural environment indirectly affects consumption behavior characterized by consumption attitude.
Through good economic learning, a good socio-cultural environment will influence consumption attitudes in accordance with Pancasila values. Likewise with a good economic learning process, a good socio-cultural environment and supported by a good consumption attitude will be able to influence the characteristic consumption behavior of students. Consumption behavior that upholds the values contained in Pancasila in accordance with the Indonesian culture in accordance with its character. Not selfish consumption behavior (self nterested) don't care about other people. Through good economic learning, it is hoped that it can form student character that is in accordance with Pancasila in their consumption behavior.
