Abstract:ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is a realization from the final economic integration goal in the South East Asian area. In December 2015, the AEC’s agreement has entered into force. Collectively the third largest economy in Asia and the seventh in the world, the AEC offer many prospects and opportunities to the business community and general public. Following the formal establishment of the AEC in 2015, the AEC will have great impact on the way we live, work and do business in the ASEAN region. Not only in the economic sector, AEC also had impact in education as a modal to build the competitive human resources. The main problem of Indonesia is that the country does not have a well-prepared in education. The quality of education remains low for labour, where until February 2014, there were 76.4 million people, about 64 % of the total 118 million workers in Indonesia, with junior high school or lower education. In the term of education, there are some issues that Indonesia faces in entering AEC such as the growth of foreign educational institutions, pro-market educational standards and orientation, and labour market who is flooded with foreign workers. This article discusses some significant things to do in the revitalization of education in Indonesia such as: (1) strengthening of mastery of the English language, technology, innovation and networking; (2) strengthening the curriculum; (3) strengthening the quality of educators; and (4) strengthening the educational facilities in each region in Indonesia. According to the author, revitalization of education should be implemented to helps the growth and development of human resources in Indonesia in order to support the goals achievement of AEC.
