HUBUNGAN RELASI GURU SISWA DAN DUKUNGAN SOSIAL TEMAN DENGAN KETRELIBATAN BELAJAR SISWA DI SEKOLAH

Abstract


Makalah ini merupakan sebuah kajian konsep yang membahas hubungan antara relasi guru siswa, dukungan sosial teman dengan keterlibatan siswa di sekolah.  Keterlibatan siswa mengacu pada kebutuhan siswa, kerelaan keinginan, dan keharusan untuk berpartisipasi dan berhasil mempromosikan berpikir tingkat tinggi dalam proses belajar. Keterlibatan siswa dikonseptualisasikan meliputi tiga dimensi utama atau subtipe yaitu kognitif, emosional, dan behavioral. Penelitian terdahulu  telah menyimpulkan bahwa keterlibatan sekolah siswa memiliki pengaruh pada prestasi belajar siswa (Fredricks, Blumenfeld, dan Paris 2004, Chen, 2008, Dalun, Hsu, Kwok, Benz, dan Bowman, 2011, dan Roorda et al. 2011), Wonglorsaichon, et. Al., 2014. Brown, 1990; Barkauskaite, 2001; Bitinas, 2004; Martisauskiene, 2004; Aramaviciute, 2005 dalam Ciuladiene (2014), menekankan bahwa hubungan yang harmonis antara siswa dan guru didasarkan pada saling menghormati, pengertian, kebaikan dan kerjasama sangat penting bagi keberhasilan pendidikan. Hal ini mengarah pada bagaimana relasi yang terjadi antara guru dan siswa di sekolah dalam menciptakan situasi atau kondisi yang dapat mendukung proses-proses selama berada di sekolah. Penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Brown et. al., menekankan bahwa hubungan yang harmonis antara siswa dan guru berdasarkan saling menghormati, pengertian, kebaikan dan kerjasama sangat penting untuk keberhasilan pendidikan. Faktor lain yang dipandang ikut mempengaruhi keterlibatan belajar siswa di sekolah adalah dukungan sosial teman. Sarafino (1994) menggambarkan dukungan sosial sebagai suatu kenyamanan, perhatian, penghargaan ataupun bantuan yang diterima individu dari orang lain maupun kelompok. Dengan demikian, meningkatnya relasi antara guru siswa dan adanya dukungan sosial dari teman dimungkinkan dapat membuat siswa terlibat dalam kegiatan belajar.
